ARE YOU LICENSED, BONDED AND INSURED?
Guardian Angels Sitting Service LLC. is a business licensed Babysitter, Pet Sitter and Elderly Companion referral agency, which is also bonded and insured in all operating states/cities.
WHAT IS YOUR SCREENING PROCESS?
Your child’s safety and your personal peace of mind are our top priority, which is why we only work with highly trained sitters. All of our sitters are personally interviewed by the owner and then put through a meticulous screening process before ever being referred to your family. Our screening process includes a detailed application submission; multiple child-care, personal, employer/professional, pet sitting and elderly reference verification. We also spend a minimum of an hour with the applicant, personally, in a structured face-to-face interview. We are Mother’s and use our Motherly instinct when it comes to whom we accept into our agency as well. In addition to our formal screening process, we accept only those that we as Mom’s would trust with our own children, pets or elderly family members.
HOW OLD ARE YOUR SITTERS?
Our sitters are between 16 and 70 years of age. They are all wonderful individuals who have a dedicated interest in impacting the lives of children, animals and the elderly.
WHAT KIND OF EXPERIENCE DO THE SITTERS HAVE?
They range in experience with children, elderly, and animals. Most have been babysitting since they were young teenagers until present or they have cared for their own elderly family members or Pets as well as for elderly family members and pets of others. Our sitters range from schoolteachers, to volunteers for local Boys & Girls Clubs or YMCA, to day care instructors and high-school/college students, professional workers and retirees from many different fields.
DO YOUR SITTERS HAVE ANY SPECIAL TRAINING?
Some sitters are trained medical technicians, nursing students, education majors and many are teachers in our local schools. Some have first aid training. Some have Pet CPR training. ALL sitters are required to have a current Infant/ Child/ Adult CPR certification on file at all times.
WILL I TALK TO OR MEET MY SITTER IN ADVANCE?
We do not give out any personal information about our sitters prior to the sitting date and time for confidentiality and legal reasons. All changes and questions must go through the agency prior to your sitter coming. The agency will send you a picture and a brief bio on your sitter so that you can know a little information about her prior to her arriving. If you would like to set up a consultation prior to the first date of service, that can be arranged, however standard sitter/ agency rates would apply for the length of time that you are requesting.
If you will be staying in a hotel your sitter will ask for you by last name at the hotel front desk. All sitters plan to arrive at the location 15 minutes prior to your requested time. We do suggest that when you book that you allow some time in the beginning of the sitting period to get to know the sitter with your child/children. and go over details prior to departing.
DO THE SITTERS TAKE THE CHILDREN OUT OR DO THEY JUST STAY IN THE HOME/HOTEL ROOM?
The sitter is prepared to do with the children whatever the parent wishes. It completely depends on the comfort level of the parent. If you wish to have a sitter drive your child, clearance with the agency must first be made. There will be a $15 charge to have a driving record pulled on the sitter in advance of the time that you wish to have your child transported. Parents are responsible for installing car seats. Agency insurance does NOT cover automobile transportation of any child, pet or elderly. This would be the responsibility of the driver.
MY CHILD HAS A DISABILITY. DO ANY OF YOUR SITTERS HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS?
Yes, many of our sitters have experience with special needs children either as a Special Needs Teacher, from working at a day care center or volunteering in a church nursery or raising their own special needs child/children. Some have had babysitting jobs for children with special needs in the past or have siblings with special needs.
I WOULD LIKE TO BOOK A SITTER, WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
The first step is to fill out an electronic Application on our website: www.GuardianAngelsSittingService.com under the ‘book a Guardian Angel’ tab at the top of the website. You will pick the form that caters to the service you are looking for. The agency will contact you via email to let you know that the application has been received and then will begin to work to confirm a sitter for you. Once a sitter is confirmed you can expect to receive a confirmation email with a brief bio and picture of your sitter and final confirmation of rates.
CAN I HAVE THE SAME SITTER FOR MULTIPLE DATES?
We understand that it is most beneficial for your loved ones to have the same sitter time after time. We especially love to see the children, adults or pets build a bond with their sitter and begin to see them as an extension of their family. If requests are submitted far enough in advance then there should not be a problem booking your desired sitter but this cannot be guaranteed. It helps when completing the application to include all dates and times that you are requesting so we can plan to book the same sitter. We will always do our very best!
WHAT IF I NEED MORE THEN ONE SITTER?
Our rates differ when requesting more then one sitter. We keep one sitter per five children depending on the age of the children. We have a lot of experience with weddings, small and large corporation functions, and military events, kids night outs, and summer activities programs. We can provide toys, crafts, books, games and entertainment. There is an upfront booking fee per sitter. Group rates only apply if requesting more then two sitters in the same location at the same time. A group application can be filled out under “book a Guardian Angel” tab on the website.
WHAT IF I DO NOT HAVE A COMPUTER ON VACATION WITH ME?
Sitter confirmations are made in the order in which applications are received from families, so it is imperative that you submit your application as soon as possible. If you are not able to do so prior to arriving at your hotel or vacation home- we ask that you seek a business center, internet café or the assistance of your Concierge to fill this out for you. Our websit is mobile and tablet friendly and all forms can be submitted electronically. We CANNOT confirm a sitter with any family until the application has been received and is complete with all information.
WHAT ARE YOUR RATES AND HOW DO I PAY THE SITTER?
Depending on the location our rates vary. The sitter is paid cash at the end of the service and the agency fees are charged to the families’ credit card. For minimums and mileage, gratuities and other charges, please visit our website to see rates for the location you are interested in booking a sitter in. All charges are given to you by the sitter, in detail on a time sheet at the end of the evening.
SHOULD I TIP THE SITTER?
Tipping is very much appreciated by the sitters and is left up to the discretion of the individual family. Many sitters travel up to an hour to reach your family and have parking to pay in hotels and casinos- tipping can help offset these costs.
DO I NEED TO RESERVE IN ADVANCE?
It is always a great idea to reserve your sitter as soon as you know your needs and are able to fill out an application (dates, times, location etc). Sitters are booked in the order in which applications are received from families, on a first come, first serve basis. Most families that have used us in the past book their sitters for their upcoming trips well in advance- so it is not uncommon to have numerous families and sitters reserved well in advance of any given month. That is not to say we will not do the best we can with last minute requests! We will ALWAYS try our very best to meet your needs!
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your start date/time incur a 4-hour minimum charge for the sitter and agency. All booking fees are non refundable. If a sitter arrives and you are not there and we are unable to get a hold of you then a mileage/transportation fee in addition to the 4-hour minimum for the agency and sitter will be charged to the card on file. There is no charge for cancellations made in advance of 24 hours.
